Getchy is a product of Children’s Discovery Museum’s Youth Programs. It is a creative forum for youth to learn the basics of online publishing. This online format not only teaches participating youth necessary skills, but offers them a voice online. Getchy is written by teens for teens. Some content may be inappropriate for younger audiences.
Kids from all over Silicon Valley bring their various backgrounds, creative abilities, ideas, skills, and enthusiasm together to produce Getchy. In order to create the content on this site, kids have mastered and helped each other learn Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, photography and journalism technique, as well as a basic understanding of web design.
The purpose of the site is to offer a venue for youth to publish their creative efforts and to offer the tools and the knowledge to so on their own. In addition, we encourage feedback from visitors in terms of comments and questions on individual work.
Getchy is a product of Discovery Youth and Summer of Service, programs offered by Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose. For more information on these programs, please visit www.cdm.org/youthprograms.
