SOS 2015 ‘Zines are here!

Over the summer our awesome Purple Team put these ‘Zines together. In these articles our participants will give you a glimpse of what goes on in Summer of Service. They will also write articles that are just for fun. Another function of the ‘Zine is to be a safe place for our participants to express themselves, and their ideas. They choose the topics they would like to advocate for are given the opportunity to have a voice.

At RAFT the purple team got to help organize a load of bottle caps into a way to teach kids how to add and subtract. We put numbered stickers onto the green caps and mathematical operations onto the white caps. The kids when they got these caps would pick two green caps and either add or subtract depending on the white cap. We helped put the stickers on and organize them.

RAFT is a non-profit organization that helps teachers get supplies for their classes at a reduced price.
